Woman presumed to be US national hospitalised following symptoms of fever

A foreign national who reached the railway station here on Monday afternoon was shifted to the medical college hospital here after she displayed extreme symptoms of fever and temperature, railway police said.

The 59-year-old woman, who was presumed to be a US national, reached Kollam station by the Kerala Express.

“We were informed that she was not well. We informed the health officials who reached the station and shifted her to the hospital.

She told us that she got into the train from Thrissur and was planning to visit the Amrithanandamayi Ashram near here,” a railway police official said.

The official said the foreigner was in India for the past two years and told officials that she was engaged in humanitarian works.
