Muzaffarnagar:
A wanted criminal, carrying a reward of Rs one lakh, was shot dead in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Police here, a senior officer said on Tuesday.
Adesh was involved in more than three dozen cases including murder and loot and was wanted in Muzaffarnagar and neighbouring districts of western UP, SSP Sudhir Kumar said.
He was killed by the Special Task Force (STF) on Monday night near Sambhalhera Canal Road under Miranpur Police Station and the police recovered two pistols and cartridges along with a motorcycle from the spot of the encounter, he added.
In separate encounters, three more criminals were injured and arrested in the district, the SSP said.
