Vigilance Awareness Week: NDMC chairman administers integrity pledge

New Delhi:

Chairman, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)  Dharmendra administered pledge of  integrity to the heads of all the departments in NDMC to fight against corruption and bring transparency in their working at NDMC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road, here on Tuesday.

The NDMC is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 to emphasize the importance of integrity in government working and public life as a public servant.    This year the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week is “Satark Bharat, Smriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India)”.

The NDMC also organized a webinar. Among others  motivational speaker, Dr.Deepak Vohara was also present on the occasion. Vohara said that the entire society is being affected by corruption and breach of integrity at many levels. Emphasizing that trust and integrity are inborn moral convictions of human beings and we should nurture it in our daily life,  if we want to live in a corruption free society.

On this occasion, the Chief Technical Examiner of Central Vigilance Commission, Shailendra Singh also interacted in another webinar with the employees and officers of NDMC on the technical issues of transparent tendering process and their specifications.

He stressed upon the importance of self explanatory provision of the tender to avoid the delay in execution of work.

During the Vigilance Awareness Week,  the NDMC is organizing various activities to create awareness about increasing transparency in the Government working and fight against corruption through Informative, Educative and Communicative (IEC) activities like conduct of various competitions such as debates, quiz etc. for employees and school students.

-EDMC employees take oath of honesty & integrity –

Commissioner of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC)  Dr. Dilraj Kaur administered the oath of honesty and integrity to all employees on the inaugural day of the  vigilance awareness week here on Tuesday.

Additional Commissioners   Prashant Kumar Panda, Dr. Brajesh Singh and Alka Sharma along with other senior officials and employees of the corporation were also present on this occasion.

Commissioner  Kaur said that everyone must contribute their bit in making India corruption-free. She said that it is important to develop processes and systems which leave no scope of corruption for reducing the menace.

Kaur also made an appeal not to misuse their position and work for the welfare of the citizens.
