New Delhi:
Three men have been arrested for allegedly robbing a man of his mobile phone after chocking him while he was waiting for some conveyance near a bus stand here, police said on Sunday.
The accused were identified as Shavez (27), Rohit Prajapati (22) and Mohd. Nasir (32) and the phone has been recovered, they said.
The incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, when Neeraj, a resident of outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area, came to Old Delhi railway station to see off his sister who was leaving for Patna.
He was waiting for some conveyance near a bus stand on SP Mukherjee Marg to return home. At around 3 am, he was accosted by three persons and one of them choked him. They robbed him of his mobile phone and fled towards T-Point, SP Marg.
When the man raised the alarm, the picket staff deployed at T-Point around 100 metre away chased and apprehended two of the accused, later identified as Shavej and Rohit and the robbed mobile phone was also recovered from their possession, said Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
A case was registered at Lahori Gate police station and during the course of investigation, the third accused Mohd. Nasir, who had managed to escape from the spot, was also arrested, he said.
