Sikkim reports five new COVID-19 cases

Gangtok:

Sikkim reported five fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the coronavirus caseload to 6,204, an official said on Saturday.

State Information Education and Communication (IEC) member Sonam Bhutia said that four cases were reported from North Sikkim district and one from East Sikkim district.

Sikkim now has 53 active COVID-19 cases, while 5,919 patients have recovered from the disease, he said.

The COVID-19 death toll in the state is 135. At least 97 patients have migrated to other states, Bhutia said.

Sikkim has so far tested 81,576 samples for COVID-19 including 200 samples in the last 24 hours, he added.
