Siliguri:
A major fire gutted several shops in Siliguri’s Rabindranagar Mor area in the early hours of Wednesday, officials said.
The blaze was noticed around 3 am and five fire tenders were sent to douse it, they said.
It took four hours to contain the flames, an official said, adding that eight shops were gutted.
Congress MLA Shankar Malakar, TMC district president Ranjan Sarkar, BJP district chief Prabin Agarwal and several Left councillors visited the area and met the affected traders.
