Reporters and journalists from across different media platforms shared their thoughts and innovative ideas at a media workshop in Prayagraj on Sunday.
The media workshop, titled ”Social Service and Social Media – Rotary Friendship and Public Image”, was organized at a city hotel here by Rotary Allahabad Midtown.
On the topic ‘Social Service and Media’, Rotary Allahabad Midtown invited prominent Media persons and journalists of the Prayagraj city who have been associated with social series in one or the other ways.
With a special emphasis upon Rotary Friendship and and Public Image themes this workshop was organized by Club President Rotarian Dr Divya Bartaria who thinks that if services are being done selflessly, it must reach the public.
She threw light on the important reasons of strengthening the public image of Rotary- First, people must be aware of Rotary’s vision, mission and goals; second, Rotary wants to identify the needs of the community and society so that through mutual cooperation and collaboration, rotary leadership could be extended in the form of need-based services.
Club President Rotarian Dr Divya Bartaria has been working on different dimensions covering six areas of focus – Basic Education and Literacy, Disease prevention and control, maternal and child health, economic and community development, peace and conflict resolution, water and sanitation and in this meeting she presented a report of work done and work in progress.
Besides, she threw light on club’s current running project – Blessings – Humanity and Crowning Heritage through which club is providing cultural exposure to 250 slum kids. Besides, she also shared the plans of club’s upcoming projects – Chetna – Skilling Centre for Women and Agri Meet 2020 – Farmer’s Training Program scheduled in the month of December.
In this workshop, all the reporters also shared their thoughts and ideas on the theme. They shared their expectations and in this way it was a real thought provoking session of understanding, sharing and planning in consonance with the Rotary’s goals of Community Development, Friendship and Outreach.
Vice President and Past President Rotarian Ravi Talwar also shared his experience and proposed a vote of thanks at the end.
