Light rains in isolated places in UP

Chandigarh:

Rains lashed some parts of Punjab and Haryana, including joint capital Chandigarh, on Thursday bringing down day temperature, a meteorological department official said.

The maximum temperature in Chandigarh dropped a few notches below normal and settled close to 32 degrees Celsius after the heavy downpour on Thursday morning, the official said.

The maximum temperature at most places in the two states hovered between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius after rain in some areas, including Mohali, Jalandhar, Rupnagar, Patiala, Ludhiana, Ambala, Panchkula and Yamunanagar, the official said.

The weather department has forecast more rains in Haryana and Punjab till Saturday.
