Ballia:
A 45-year-old man was killed and three others were injured when a truck hit them in Haldi area of the district on Sunday, police said.
The truck on its way to Bairia from Ballia hit the four when they were walking on the roadside, police said.
One of them, identified as Devendra Gupta, died on the spot, while three others suffered injuries. The injured were admitted to a local hospital, they said.
The truck driver fled the spot in the vehicle.
A case was registered in this connection and efforts are on to nab the driver, police said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said.
