Bhopal:
Madhya Pradesh on Sunday reported 891 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 1,77,359, while 11 fatalities pushed the toll to 3,028, health officials said.
With 688 patients being discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, the cumulative count of recoveries rose to 1,66,403.
While four deaths occurred in Indore, two patients died in Rajgarh while one person succumbed each in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Sagar and Mandsaur, the official said.
At 215, Bhopal reported the highest number of new cases in the state in the day, followed by Gwalior with 91 infections, Indore (89) and Jabalpur (29).
With this, Indore’s cumulative case count mounted to 34,617, including 694 deaths, while Bhopal’s tally rose to 26,108 with 489 fatalities.
Jabalpur has so far reported 13,029 cases and Gwalior 12,770 infections, the officials said.
The number of active cases in Indore now stands at 1,705, followed by 1,594 in Bhopal, 524 in Jabalpur and 482 in Gwalior, they added.
With 28,520 samples being tested in the state in the last 24-hours, the overall number of tests rose to 31.51 lakh.
“50% of the people are undergoing rapid antigen tests everyday and rest are subjected to RT-PCR tests,” officials said.
