Mayor urges LG to exempt North DMC employees from additional jobs

Mayor of North Delhi Avtar Singh has urged the governor of Delhi to exempt North DMC employees from additional jobs.

Singh in a letter to  lieutenant governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal,  to appraise him about the situation of additional duties assigned to the available municipal staff.

He said that North DMC employees are in the forefront in the fight against Coronavirus  apart from their regular duties. In addition to the present duties couple of days back chief secretary vide his orders date 13.04.20 has constituted a team namely “Corona Foot Warriors Containment and Surveillance Team” headed by the area BLO to monitor the lockdown violations in which MCD sanitation workers have also been included.

The mayor said that North DMC has exempted employees who are more than 55 years of age from their regular duties due to Coronavirus . Apart from this some employees who are coming from other states are unable to reach Delhi because of which attendance of employees is affected to some extent.

Singh  said that if additional duties are assigned to the available staff that may hamper the work carried out to fight diseases like Dengue and Chikungunya as the season of these diseases is approaching.

He requested the lt. governor that the employees of North DMC may be exempted from additional jobs so that they may continue to their already assigned jobs and prevent any spread of other diseases.
