Max temp rises slightly in Delhi

The maximum temperature rose slightly in the national capital on Tuesday in the absence of rains, the weatherman said.

The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for the city, recorded a maximum of 35.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.

Humidity levels oscillated between 57 and 89 per cent.

The meteorological department has predicted dry weather over the next few days. Mercury is likely to rise further.

The city has recorded just 20.9 mm rainfall against the normal of 53.5 mm, a deficiency of 61 per cent in September so far.

Overall, it has recorded 576.5 mm precipitation against the normal of 577.3 since June 1, when the monsoon season starts.
