Delhi man stabs himself with knife after argument with family

New Delhi:

A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by three brothers over a trivial issue in North Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla area, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Firoz and two of the accused — Ashfaq and Mushtaq — were arrested on Tuesday, the police said.

Arman, a resident of Rakhi Market in Zakhira, had lodged a report in connection with an assault on his brother Firoz, they said.

In the report, he stated that on Monday, at about 10.30 pm, he was in his shop along with his father when he heard cries of a person and when he came out of the shop, he saw three persons assaulting Firoz, a senior police officer said.

Arman also said that when his brother tried to escape, the accused attacked him with knife and fled the spot, police said.

The complainant took his injured brother to Hindu Rao Hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said.

Later, a case was registered at Sarai Rohilla police station following which the accused were arrested.

Police said the accused and the victim were previously involved in criminal cases.

Ashfaq and Mushtaq have been arrested while Mumtaz, the third accused, is on the run and efforts are on to nab him, they said.
