New Delhi: With his mesmerizing instrument music, renowned flutist Rajesh Cherthala enthralled the audience who were present at the Pragati Maidan’s amphitheater, as part of the Kerala Day celebration at IITF in New Delhi.
The concert, named ‘Magic of Flute’, opened with a popular Malayalam film song, and gradually switched over to the demands of the audience, who suggested songs of Tamil as well as Hindi. He won the audience over with his rapturous instrument music, playing the subtle intricacies of the evergreen, super-hit and classical songs.
As the concert ended, people stood and applauded his performance and Supreme Court judge C.T. Ravikumar, who was the chief guest, expressed the gratitude of the audience and the State by handing over gifts to Rajesh, who is the disciple of music maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasya.
“I am happy to be here representing Kerala. It was a wonderful experience, performing in front of a diverse audience. Their response was also very encouraging,” said Rajesh, after the performance.
At the outset, Kerala state Public Relations Director H Dineshan IAS inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. The instrument music performance started at around 3.00 pm. Along with Rajesh, his team members, including Sumesh Anand (keyboard), Bineesh (rhythm), Justin (guitar), Lijin Davis (sound engineer) and Tintu Mol Joseph (anchor), also joined the performance.
