CM Kejriwal said, “Congratulations on the 75 years of Indian independence. This is the time to remember the martyrdom of our brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation, this is the time to remember the struggle of thousands of our freedom fighters who gave their lives away for our freedom. This is the time to remember their dreams of how a free India should look like. Many of those dreams have been fulfilled in the last 75 years. This is the time to remember all those dreams that have been fulfilled and the achievements that have been made by our nation. This is also the time to remember the dreams that have not been fulfilled and this is the time to make a resolution to fulfill these dreams together. AAP government has made comprehensive plans to celebrate the 75 years of Indian independence.”

He further said, “It will be the first time in Delhi that special classes on Deshbhakti will be organized in the Delhi government schools. A separate curriculum will be made where children will be taught patriotism for one hour daily in schools. In every home, message on the lives of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and Baba Sahab Ambedkar, their struggles, sacrifices, vision, and teachings will be put across. Baba Sahab’s vision, how he laid the foundation of current India, and how he drafted the constitution will be sent across. 500 flags will be installed across 500 locations across Delhi. When we look at our Tricolour, we get a sense of patriotism, we remember Bharat Mata. This will instill a sense of patriotism and nationalism in the people as they step out of their homes for schools and offices. These flags will make people remember our soldiers who are sacrificing a lot on the borders of our nation. The dreams of 130 crore Indians are unfulfilled. The people of this country want nobody to go to sleep hungry, that everybody should have clothes and shelter, that every child should get a good education, everyone irrespective of their class should get good healthcare, everybody should get employed, every farmer and labourer should get their dues, everybody should get free electricity and access to drinking water. I am happy to say that Delhi is the only city in the world where electricity is free.”

“Our country is a country of various castes and religions. There should be love and harmony amongst all castes and religions. People of all castes and religions should have access to equal opportunities. Today, on the occasion of 75 years of Indian independence, let’s resolve to fulfill these dreams of the people of our nation. Let’s make India number one in the world,” he added.
