Kashmiri students get essentials, monetary help

Dehradun:

The Jammu-Kashmir Students’ Association (JKSA) and the Khalsa Aid jointly distributed groceries and money among Kashmiri students in Dehradun.

With restrictions continuing in the Valley since August 5, a number of Kashmiri students here have been out of touch with their families and suffering from a shortage of money, JKSA spokesman Nasir Khuehami said in a statement.

“We in collaboration with the Khalsa Aid distributed money and packets containing around 5 kg of rice and flour along with sugar, cooking oil, salt and some basic spices among hundreds of students over the past three days, he said.

“We received many requests from students for help and we provided them with essential items. If students are facing monetary issues, they can contact us for help,” Khalsa Aid administrator Gurpreet Singh said.
