Rains likely in TN, Kerala, coastal AP; low pressure to become depression soon

Chandigarh:

Dry weather persisted in Haryana and Punjab on Monday, with maximum temperatures in both the states hovering close to normal limits.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 35.3 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said.

In Haryana, Ambala registered a high of 36.3 degrees Celsius while Hisar recorded a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius.

Karnal’s maximum settled at 33.2 degrees Celsius, Bhiwani recorded a high of 33.5 degrees Celsius while Narnaul recorded a maximum of 31.9 degrees Celsius.

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded a maximum of 34.6 degrees Celsius each. Ludhiana recorded a high of 34.6 degrees Celsius while Patiala’s maximum settled at 35 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in the two states on July 31, August 1 and 2, according to the Met department forecast.
