THE Commissioner of Police, Delhi, S N Shrivastava has instructed the Delhi police cops to evolve mechanism for carrying out better and effective policing in the national capital.
The Delhi Police Commissioner on Saturday held Crime and Covid-19 review meeting through video conferencing.
At the outset of the Crime and Covid-19 review meeting, the Commissioner of Police and officers attending the meeting read out Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge.

The National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed on October 31 every year. The day was introduced in 2014 by the Government of India to mark the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Commissioner of Police, Delhi reiterated that Covid prosecutions should be carried out at designated market and crowded places while observing due precautions under supervision of Inspector rank officers in respective police stations.
S N Shrivastava emphasized to evolve a mechanism to assess the effectiveness of police working at police station level on day-to-day basis.
It should be simple and comprehensive with common and specific tasks in view of topographic and crime patterns of the police station, with involvement of SHOs and SDPOs, he added.
The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding missing children should be followed in letter and spirit and training and sensitization for IOs be regularly organized.
Emphasis, during the crime review meeting, was laid on timely disposal of cyber crime related complaints under effective supervision of District Cyber Cells.
The Commissioner of Police, Delhi S N Shrivastava laid stress on encouraging the field formations to take maximum help of technology available to reduce unnecessary physical movements and to boost productivity.
Finally district heads were called upon to connect with the public to catch their nerve and to spread awareness on the prevalent Covid-19 pandemic.
