The East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has launched Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2019-20 with 100% waiver of interest and penalty.
Mayor of East Delhi Anju Kamalkant here on Monday said that in a big relief to property owners / property tax payers, The EDMC has brought Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2019-20, extending the benefit of waiver of 100 percent interest and penalty on outstanding property tax in the jurisdiction of EDMC.
In a joint press conference with chairman of the standing committee Sandeep Kapoor and leader of house Nirmal Jain, the mayor announced that scheme is on and will effective till 25 December 2019.
The chairman of the standing committee, Sandeep Kapoor, said that under this amnesty scheme 100% waiver of interest and penalty on arrears up to 31 March 2019 on all properties, subject to lump sum pay, will be applicable.
He further informed that under this scheme, properties holder in unauthorized colonies get settled their dispute of assessment by producing supporting documents with electricity bill. The detailed features of the scheme are available at EDMC official website.
Leader of house Jain said that for the facilitation of general public, property tax camps will be organized in all wards of East Delhi and broad publicity will be done to inform Property holders.
Meanwhile, during the press conference mayor Kamalakant, gave strict directions to the officers concerned not to harass the owners of domestic industries and non-polluting factories in the name of sealing. She also made it clear that she is in favor of taking strict action against the polluting units.
