About 2500 COVID beds still vacant in Delhi: Deputy CM Sisodia

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday emphasized that the doctors and the medical staff are the real heroes in these difficult times. They are consistently working to save so many lives, and we are really proud of them. We salute their untiring efforts, asserted the Deputy CM.

Sisodia made the remark during his visit to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital and Acharya Shree Bhikshu hospital, along with Health Minister Satyendra Jain.

Deputy CM Sisodia’s first stop was Acharya Shree Bhikshu hospital in Moti Nagar where he examined the Covid management facilities. He met with the doctors and took a stock of the arrangements in the hospital. He also interacted with the patients and their family members to understand their situation. He directed the hospital authorities to ensure proper care of the patients and their family members.

Further the Deputy CM instructed to enhance the Covid beds in the hospital to 400, i.e. 250 beds increase from the current capacity of 150. Sisodia assured the doctors and hospital authorities of every possible support from the government and asked them to perform their duties diligently.

Sisodia’s next visit was to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital in Hari Nagar. The hospital currently has 500 Covid beds, which on Deputy CM’s direction will be increased to 1000.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “These are no ordinary times. We are in a battle against the Covid pandemic. This is the time to save the humanity from this crisis. We have to fight this battle together and we have to ensure that all our resources are utilized to their best potential. I want to assure everyone that we will emerge victorious in this battle against the Corona virus.”

Making an appeal to the residents of Delhi, especially the youth, he said, “Everyone should follow the curfew rules and not step out of their homes unnecessarily. Youth should utilize this time to think about how they can offer their service to our nation. We are hopeful that these troubling times will end soon.”
