Mumbai:
The tally of coronavirus cases in Mumbai’s Dharavi area crossed the 3,000 mark on Saturday with 25 new cases coming to light, said an official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The tally reached 3,018 on Saturday. It had crossed 2,500 on July 21.
2,585 patients from the area have recovered from the viral infection, and there are 160 active COVID-19 cases, the official said.
The civic body has stopped sharing the death toll from the area.
Known as the largest slum in Asia, Dharavi is spread over 2.5 square km and has a population over 6.5 lakh.
