A 38-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district was arrested for allegedly posting Coronavirus rumour about coronavirus on social media, police said on Thursday.

The police have arrested Gotegaon resident Kamlesh Sahu for allegedly writing a misleading post about a novel coronavirus patient on social media platform, Narsinghpur’s Superintendent of Police Gurukaran Singh said,

Sahu had written a false post on social media claiming that a man had tested positive for coronavirus in Gotegaon, creating unnecessary panic, an official said.

The accused has been booked for disrupting peace, he added.
