Chandigarh:
The cold weather conditions continued to prevail in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Saturday.
Karnal in Haryana was the coldest place in both states as it recorded a low of 2.5 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal, an official of the meteorological department said on Saturday.
Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded the minimum temperature at 6.2 degree Celsius.
In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar recorded a low of 4.8 and 3.5 degrees Celsius respectively, almost four degrees below the normal.
Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa experienced a low of 3, 3.8, 6.9 and 5.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded the minimum temperature at 6.4, 4.3 and 7.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded their respective lows at 7.3, 4.6, 4.4, 4.8, 6 and 4.6 degrees Celsius.
Fog was witnessed at a few places, including Ludhiana and Ambala.
