Cold wave conditions continue in Odisha

Cold weather conditions continued to persist in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded 10 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal, a meteorological department official said.

In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal recorded their respective minimums at 10, 4.1 and 7 degrees Celsius.

Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa settled at 4.5, 6.2, 6.8 and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their respective lows at 9.4, 8.1 and 9 degrees Celsius, up to five degrees above normal.

Pathankot, Adampur, Halwara, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded their respective lows at 9.4, 8, 8.8, 9, 10.8 and 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Several parts of both states also recorded overnight showers. They include Ambala (2.7 mm), Karnal (8.4 mm), Rohtak (1.8 mm), Amritsar (21.5 mm), Ludhiana (2.2 mm), Patiala (2.7 mm), Pathankot (16mm) Halwara (4 mm) and Gurdaspur (13.6 mm).
