Cold conditions abate in parts of Punjab, Haryana

Cold wave conditions continue in Odisha

Chandigarh:

Cold weather conditions abated in most places in Punjab and Haryana on Friday, with the minimum temperatures hovering a few notches above normal limits in both the states.

Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 11.4 degrees Celsius, a meteorological department official said here.

In Punjab, Amritsar (8.4 degrees Celsius), Ludhiana (12.3 degrees Celsius), Patiala (11.3 degrees Celsius), Pathankot (8.9 degrees Celsius), Adampur (7.2 degrees Celsius), Halwara (7.9 degrees Celsius), Bathinda (8.1 degrees Celsius), Faridkot (9 degrees Celsius) and Gurdaspur (10.5 degrees Celsius), registered above normal minimum temperatures.

In Haryana, Ambala (11.4 degrees Celsius), Hisar (10.3 degrees Celsius), Karnal (10.8 degrees Celsius), Narnaul (11.8 degrees Celsius), Rohtak (12.2 degrees Celsius), Bhiwani (8.5 degrees Celsius) and Sirsa (11 degrees Celsius), too registered above normal minimums.

The maximum temperatures have also registered an increase, settling 2-4 notches above normal limits for the past three days.
