CISF working to change perception that it is a ‘costly force’: DG SK Jaiswal

The CISF is working to change the perception that it is a ‘costly force’, SK Jaiswal, Director General (DG) of the paramilitary said on Wednesday during an event held at CISF Campus in Indirapuram here to mark the 52nd raising day celebrations of the force.

The DG addressing the gathering, said that it was a matter of great pride for us that we have completed 52 years in securing the most sensitive and critical infrastructure of the country. At present, the force has more than 1,63,000 personnel in its payroll and is providing security to 351 installations of national importance relentlessly. CISF is the only Central Armed Police Force having its Fire Service and providing fire protection to 104 installations. He said that CISF personnel are performing their duties with utmost devotion and dedication in the units situated in all parts of the country.

Further to mark the occasion, today, 1489 Assistant Sub Inspectors have been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspectors. DG, CISF congratulated the promoted personnel.

Chief guest Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reviewed the ceremonial parade, said the CISF is a “well known force” and it should work to live up to its good reputation in securing vital installations, airports and Delhi Metro, which have a huge public interface and witness heavy footfall.

He said that CISF has performed excellent during the pandemic era. The services rendered by CISF in the past 52 years are commendable. He said that CISF is a unique force and has a diversified role. He conveyed his best wishes for all round development of the Force.

An investiture ceremony was organized on the occasion. Chief Guest  decorated Sanjay Prakash, IG (Central Sector), Sunil Kumar Mishra, DC (MPT Mumbai), & ASI Rajender Babu (MPRTC Behror) with President’s President’s Medal for Distinguished Service and ASI/Fire Rashpal Dass (MSTPP Mauda), ASI/Fire Darmiyan Singh (BHEL Haridwar), ASI/Fire Uttar Kanwar Sharma (FGUTPP Unchahar), ASI/Fire Ramniwas (GTPS Ghatampur) & ASI/Fire A. Narayanan (SAC Ahmedabad) with President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service which were declared on the occasion of  Republic Day-2020 & Independence Day-2020.

CISF personnel showcased their operational capabilities by presenting mesmerizing Demonstrations on ‘Silent Drill’, VIP Security and Fire drills. The audience widely applauded the demonstrations. The Chief Guest interacted with the officers and men, medal recipients and remained in the campus for some time.
