The CISF unit deployed at IGI airport has secured the best Aviation Security Group (ASG) trophy under the joint venture airports category here on Thursday. Similarly under the Airports Authority of India Airports’ category, CISF unit deployed at Kolkata Airport was chosen as the best ASG trophy.
The announcements were made by Rajesh Ranjan, Director General, CISF during a function organised at CISF headquarters here. The DG presented trophies to best airport units of CISF – ASG for infrastructure improvement at airports. ASG are the CISF units at airports.
An Inter-unit Competition for the award of best Aviation Security Group (ASG) in infrastructure improvement was organised from 15th April to 15 July, 2019 to select Best Airport Units of CISF. For the competition, CISF Units located at 61 Airports were divided into two categories. the first category comprises seven Joint Venture (JV) Airports i.e., Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Nagpur and Chandigarh. Meanwhile the second category included the 52 Airports Authority of India Airports and Shirdi Airport. Kannur Airport being a recent addition in ASGs, was not included in this competition.
Under the first category ASG at Hyderabad Airport was presented the runner up trophy, while under the second category unit at Coimbatore Airport won the runner up trophy.
Meanwhile a flagging in ceremony for the Mount Satopanth Expedition team was also organised here wherein Raghubir Lal, DIG (DMRC) team leader of Mount Satopanth Expedition handed over the National Flag and CISF Flag which was hoisted on Mount Satopanth Peak, to Rajesh Ranjan, Director General, CISF. The DG congratulated the expedition team for achieving the feat.
On the occasion, Rajesh Ranjan decorated the five CISF officers with Director General Commendation Disc in recognition of their outstanding performance and contribution. These officers include Raghubir Lal, Dayal Gangwar, Jitender Rana, Sunil Sharma and Rajender Singh.
