Chandrayaan-2: Communication from ‘Vikram lander’ lost minutes before landing

Scientists at ISRO lost signals from Vikram lander soon after it completed rough braking phase successfully. The fine braking phase was initiated but signals from the lander lost. Monitoring system awaiting data from Vikram lander.

India’s second mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-2 is an attempt to land near the south pole of the Moon between 1:30 and 2:30 am Saturday. Chandrayaan-2’s lander Vikram house the six-wheeled rover Pragyaan that will explore the lunar surface for around 14 Earth days. The Chandrayaan-2 mission also consists of an orbiter that will revolve around the Moon for around a year.
