New Delhi:
Lambasting the Union Budget, Former Union Minister A Raja Tuesday said that it has no roadmap.
“I am not really able to respect the budget. You gave the budget…But what are all the assurances given in the budget.
In order to achieve the assurances there is no roadmap at all,” Raja (DMK) said, while participating in the discussion on Budget in Lok Sabha.
India is an agrarian oriented economy, he said, adding this government, however, believes that the real wealth creators are the corporates.
This government exclusively relies on the foreign investment, he said, adding “they believe that corporate world in the country can create wealth” for the nation.
The Budget, he said, wants to rely on two componets– FDI and Foreign Portfolio Investment.
This government did not come to power due to its performance but because it projected itself as “Chowkidar” to protect this country.
“What has happened is slowdown in growth, rising umemployment….,” he added.
Participating in the discussion, Preneet Kaur (Congress) said it was for the first time that a finance minister did not speak on defence allocation.
Stating that headlines don’t produce results, she said the budget failed to rise to the challege.
