Dharamshala:
It was a bright sunny day in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, though temperatures remained below the freezing point in many places in the state after three days of continuous rains and heavy snowfall in the higher reaches.
The met department has forecast good weather in the week ahead.
A 15-cm snowfall was recorded in Gondola. Dalhousie recorded the maximum rainfall in the state at 13 mm since Friday, followed by Dharmshala (6 mm), Kangra, Baijnath (5 mm each), Palampur 3 mm and Chamba 2 mm.
Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti district was the coldest place in the state at minus 5 degrees Celsius with highest to minus 1.9 degree in past 24 hours. It saw mild snowfall too.
Kalpa recorded a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius, Shimla 4.9 degree Celsius and Dharamsala 7.2 .
Manali recorded a low of minus 0.6 degrees Celsius.
Friday’s highest temperature was recorded in state was at Una at 22.3 degrees Celsius.
Tourists from the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana National Capital Delhi are rushing to the state to see the fresh snowy ranges and to enjoys the cold sunny weather.
