Thane:
The body of an unidentified woman was found near Khadavali river at Titwala in the district, police said on Sunday.
The body, which was found on Saturday afternoon, carried multiple stab wounds and the throat was also found slit, they said.
“The body was dumped in the bushes. The victim appeared to be in the age group of 25 to 30 years. Someone must have killed her and tried to destroy the evidence,” an official said.
According to police, the body was sent for post-mortem and a case was registered against unidentified persons under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence).
