RS departs from convention in paying tributes to Jaitley, others

BJP leader Arun Jaitley admitted in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for medical checkup, a media house claimed on Friday.

The former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley taken to AIIMS for routine health checkup at around 11 AM.

It may be mentioned that on May 14, 2018, Jaitley was operated upon for kidney transplant at the AIIMS. Later in January 2019, he was diagnosed with a rare form of soft-tissue sarcoma.

Jaitley, born 28 December 1952, had served as Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of the Government of India from 2014 to 2019. Meanwhile from 2009 to 2014 he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Jaitley decided not to join the Modi Cabinet in 2019 due to health issues.
