Ahmedabad:
Ahmedabad reported 183 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, raising the number of cases in the district to 35,671, the Gujarat health department said.
The district also reported three COVID-19 deaths, increasing the death toll to 1,810, it said.
With 123 patients being discharged during the day, the recoveries in the district rose to 29,617, it said.
Ahmedabad city reported 156 new cases while the rural parts reported 27.
All the three deaths were reported in the city.
As per the COVID-19 bulletin released by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) on Thursday afternoon, there are 3,687 active cases in the city.
The west zone has 679 cases, followed by the north- west zone at 620, south west zone at 597, south zone at 553 cases, east zone at 542 cases, north zone at 350, and central zone at 346 cases.
23 coronavirus positive cases were detected among 1,221 passengers who were tested for the virus upon arrival in the city by three trains on Thursday, the AMC said.
Some of them were taken to the COVID-19 care centre set up by the railways, while the others were advised home quarantine.
The recovery rate in rural parts of Ahmedabad district stands at 95 per cent with 2,200 patients discharged so far, including 24 on Thursday. These areas have so far reported 2,313 cases and 58 deaths, officials said.
