At least 18 more people, including four Army personnel, tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the tally in the state to 16,479, a health department official said on Friday.
Of the new cases, five each were reported from East Siang, Tawang and West Kameng districts, while one each from Tirap, Namsai and the Capital Complex region, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Three infections were detected through TrueNat tests and the remaining 15 via rapid antigen tests, he said.
Barring six, all the new patients are asymptomatic, Jampa said.
Forty-two people were discharged from various hospitals on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 15,739, the official said.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state currently stands at 95.50 per cent.
Arunachal Pradesh now has 685 active coronavirus cases, while 55 people have succumbed to the infection so far, the SSO said.
The positivity rate currently stands at 4.50 per cent, while the fatality ratio is at 0.33 per cent, Jampa said.
The Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 524, followed by West Kameng at 38, Changlang at 29 and East Siang at 19.
A total of 3,67,306 samples have been examined for COVID-19 so far, including 776 on Thursday, Jampa added.
